Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti Multi-System Hospital (ABUAD MSH) has officially launched its state-of-the-art fertility centre, aiming to alleviate the emotional, physical, and financial toll of infertility on couples. The centre, led by Chief Medical Director Dr. Kolawole Ogundipe, comes in response to the growing prevalence of infertility issues affecting millions of couples worldwide, and particularly in sub-Saharan Africa.
Dr. Ogundipe, acknowledging the deep emotional strain and stigma infertility causes, highlighted that the condition often leads to feelings of isolation, hopelessness, and even health complications such as high blood pressure and depression. The centre’s services include IVF, intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), egg freezing and preservation, ovulation induction and monitoring, as well as fertility counseling. These services are offered at a fraction of the cost of medical tourism, ensuring that more families have access to essential fertility treatments.
