Dr. Redi Hoxhallari, an obstetrician-gynecologist, discussed the growing issue of infertility during an appearance on “Health O’clock” on Euronews Albania. He highlighted that infertility has become a significant challenge for many couples in recent years.
According to Dr. Hoxhallari, around 15–20% of couples face difficulty conceiving, and a rising number of these cases are classified as unexplained infertility. He noted that while the causes of infertility are still being studied, the condition is affecting a growing number of people.
“Infertility is a global issue, and Albania is no exception. Approximately 15–20% of couples struggle with the inability to conceive. This is a trend that is on the rise. While we continue to investigate the causes, it remains a painful reality for many couples. Infertility is usually categorized based on whether the cause is female, male, or both. Sometimes, however, we can’t pinpoint a specific cause, and we refer to these cases as unexplained infertility. This doesn’t mean that the couple is perfectly healthy, even if their tests appear normal. It simply means that there are factors we cannot yet identify,” said Dr. Hoxhallari.
