Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox has officially renamed its Center for Women’s Health to better reflect the services it now provides. The facility is now called the Silver Cross Center for Breast Health.
The decision was made as breast-related procedures have become the center’s primary focus.
“We changed the name because, after moving to our new location, we began doing more and more breast procedures than others like pelvic ultrasounds,” said Marci Vasiliades, administrative director of imaging services at Silver Cross.
The rebranding comes with new upgrades. Last fall, the center added a fourth mammography machine, and it plans to install a third breast ultrasound machine soon. These additions aim to support the growing number of patients seeking breast imaging services.
Importantly, the name change also recognizes that breast cancer affects both women and men.
“We don’t see as many men here as women, but, yes, the Silver Cross Center for Breast Health is for women and men,” Vasiliades added.
